This year's blueberry season in Poland has been very unusual.

It started at the end of June and ended quickly. "In most plantations, there was no fruit in the last weeks of August," said Dominika Kozarzewska, president of the Polish Berry Cooperative, in an interview with www.sadyogrody.pl.

She added that because of frost damage, Poland's production has been much smaller than a year ago. "We estimate a reduction of about 30 percent; however, thanks to the cooperation of the producer groups, BerryGroup and Elliot, in the framework of the Polish Berry Cooperative, we were able to meet the needs of all customers," she explains.

The season ended with the sector's participation in the fair Asia Fruit Logistica, in Hong Kong, where they met with existing customers and established many new contacts with buyers from Asia. This year, the Polish Berry Cooperative's brand BerryGood has been well received on the Polish market and some Asian markets, so we will expand sales of branded Polish blueberries to other countries of this continent," added Dominika Kozarzewska.
